New Style of Artwork Using Embroidery, Twigs, and Images

Mixed Media Collages

Natalie Ciccoricco, the artist behind these amazing stitches, was born in the Netherlands and from 2012 she moved to the United States.

Since childhood Natalie was interested in art.

Constantly pursuing her passion she followed the courses at the Utrecht University where she acquired her Masters of Art diploma.

After many experiments, she begins to discover her own unique style of combining white handmade paper with unfinished edges, embroidery, and pieces of organic nature like small sticks.

The Angular Side of Nature

She finds her inspiration in nature and all the other places she’s traveled.

Her style of geometric lines using embroidery is what makes her mixed media collages and illustrations simply beautiful.

By re-using old materials in her artwork, she creates somehow a new bridge between the “Old” and the “New” giving a new meaning to life.

Even living in this pandemic situation did not stop Ciccoricco’s creativity and she releases new artworks during her quarantined at home.

While being under quarantine at home, I started creating embroidery artworks using materials found in our yard, on our deck, or nature walks. Exploring the juxtaposition between geometric shapes and organic elements, this series is an ongoing exercise to find beauty and hope in challenging times.
